High Performance Thermoluminescent Materials for Dosimetry
Luminescent material have been widely used as thermoluminescence dosimeters (TLDs) for radiation measurement. TLDs have been used for monitoring patient radiation dose regularly in radio diagnostics and for in vivo dosimetry in radiotherapy . They have also been used for environment dosimetry. However, the performance criteria for TLDs in environment dosimetry are different with TLDs in personal dosimetry. Herein, we focus on the development of TLDs based on CaSO4 and Li2B4O7 For personal dosimetry. TLDs based on CaSO4 doped with Dysprosium (Dy) have been developed by using a co-precipitation method. We also investigated the effect of adding Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) and the re-annealing effect of CaSO4: Dy+PTFE.
